Located in East Marion, Lavender By the Bay is New York’s premier lavender farm and one of the largest in the USA. A family run farm, we have been growing the highest quality lavender on Long Island for over 15 years.
In 2002, we expanded our home based business by purchasing 17 acres of farmland on the North Fork of Long Island. We have planted twenty varieties of lavender across seventeen acres of farmland, yielding over 80,000 plants for cultivation. Our seasonal offerings include freshly cut bunches, lavender plants and honey from our own beehives. Dried lavender, lavender sachets, and other crafts are available year-round online, at the Green Market locations in New York City, and at the farm during the growing season.
The farm will be open Friday thru Sunday 9AM-5PM for the month of May. From June to September we are open 7 days a week 9AM-5PM(we close the fields at 4:30). In October, we are only open Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9AM-5PM. During the blooms, there is a per person ages 12 and up field entry fee. The fee is $8 per person to enter the fields on weekends, of which $1 will be donated to a local charity. There is a reduced fee during the week, at $5 per person, to encourage customers to enjoy the fields during our less busy times. This fee helps us maintain the beauty of our farm and reflects field entry only. Please keep within the designated areas and ask permission before entering the field.
Any extensive photo shoot such as professional, fashion, engagement or wedding photos utilizing professional camera equipment (multiple lenses, sun reflectors, tripod, etc) requires a site fee. Professional photographers or those interested in taking wedding photos, staged photo shoots or shoots with props should contact us directly ahead of time to schedule an appointment or to inquire about fees. Artists interested in painting the fields should also contact us ahead of time about making a midweek appointment.
