July 18th, 2018
We're sad to announce that this year’s French lavender full bloom is over. All of our lavender has been harvested and prepared for dried bunches, essential oil and other lavender products.
Our most recent bloom was a beautiful time on the farm and we thank you all for visiting! We are expecting a second, smaller English bloom at the end of summer/beginning of fall. We anticipate our lavender honey to be available at the farm store only in mid-August. Stay tuned for updates! The farm will remain open 7 days a week from 9-5 throughout the summer. Thank you for being a lavender lover!
July 15th, 2018
We are starting to harvest all of our lavender fields. As our fields are large so it will take some time to cut everything. Monday and Tuesday should still be enjoyable for viewing.

July 11, 2018:
Our French lavender is still in full bloom! We’ve started cutting it back for fresh and dried bunches so the fields are getting progressively smaller. The full bloom will last thru the weekend. Come now so you don’t miss your chance to see our lovely lavender fields! We’ve completely cut all of the English lavender back. We’re hoping to see a small second English bloom later on at the end of summer.
July 6, 2018:
We are very happy to announce that our French lavender has begun blooming! Our French lavender fields have a fragrant, floral aroma. Come see (and smell!) for yourself. Please note, we start to cut our lavender when the flowers reach their peak for fresh and dried bunches, so, expect the fields to get progressively smaller during this bloom time. We’ll continue to post updates as the bloom progresses. Most of our English lavender has been cut and we hope to see a small second English bloom at the end of the summer. Keep in mind the below reminders while visiting our farm!
Farm reminders:
Entry to the fields is $6 on weekdays and $9 on weekends and national holidays, per person, for ages 12 and up.
Farm is open from from 9-5pm - fields close at 4:30.
As the bloom progresses we cut the lavender for fresh and dried bunches so the blooming fields get smaller and smaller.
Picture taking is always welcome. Please note that professional and extensive photo shoots will require a reservation and a site fee. Please contact us to make photo shoot arrangements. We are a no drone zone!! As always, please remember to tag us on Facebook and Instagram with hashtag #lavenderbythebay.

The French lavender is starting to show color but still not blooming yet. Hopefully it will be blooming in a week! Stay tuned as the French bloom progresses. Meanwhile, the English lavender is in bloom in our south field and we’ve started cutting for fresh and dried bunches. The field is getting smaller but there is still plenty to see.

June 20, 2018:

The bloom is here!

We are happy to announce that our beautiful English lavender is in bloom and is blooming in our south field. The English lavender is our smaller bloom, however, this beautiful bloom shows a variety of colors from blue to pink, white, and of course, purple. Come out to see the stunning diversity of colors of our English lavender.  Different sections of our farm bloom at different times and the French lavender will soon begin to flower. We start cutting the lavender back at its peak to ensure beautiful fresh and dried bunches, therefore, the fields get smaller overtime. Don’t forget, the farm is open 7 days a week from 9-5 PM with the fields closing at 4:30 PM. There is a farm entry fee during the bloom. $1 of the weekend farm fee goes to support local North Fork charities. Learn more about visiting our farm here.

June 18, 2018:

We’ve been busy on the farm preparing for the upcoming bloom! Unfortunately, we lost some sections of our lavender plants due to the weather this past winter. We’ve been busy replanting that section and nurturing the new plants. The rest of the farm is showing signs of blooming any day now! Our English lavender should be in bloom by the weekend. Our French lavender is sending shoots but has yet to show purple blooms.

While planning your trip to the farm, keep in mind following reminders. Please don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Instagram for Lavender by the Bay updates.

May 2018:

The lavender has started to wake up! The plants are now turning from grey to green. They are getting water when the soil is dry, however, we’ve seen quite a bit of rain on the North Fork so Mother Nature has been taking care of the watering for us. We planted an area of new lavender plants this year which are soaking up the water for growth. It is now just a waiting game until the lavender buds start to bloom! By the looks of it, we are on schedule to expect the bloom in mid-June. Stay tuned for more updates.

April  2018:
Spring has officially sprung on the lavender farm! We’re preparing for the upcoming season and are anxiously awaiting the bloom as we know you are too.  Currently the lavender is dormant and should be waking up soon. We are expecting the first Lavender bloom in mid-June. However, the exact timing is in the hands of Mother Nature. Last year we saw our first English Bloom on June 15th, our French bloom on June 30th, and a second, smaller English bloom on September 1st. Each bloom typically lasts 2-2.5 weeks but in order for us to cut the lavender when the flowers are ready for bunches we start cutting to harvest after the first week. As you prepare for your summer trips out to our North Fork Lavender farm this summer keep in mind the below reminders and stay tuned here for updates on the bloom!
